    Practice before the Holiday

Sunday, December 23, 2007, 03:13 PM [Practice scores]

Hello fellow Bowlspacer's! Yes, indeed, I got some practice the weekend before the holiday. So, without further ado, here are my scores. I was on lanes 25 & 26. They seem to be a common pair for me, as of late.

    Game 1: 195

    Game 2: 165

    Game 3: 205

Total: 565/Averaged: 188 I started off with my Total Inferno. I was pleased with it's reaction throughout the entire first game. The second game it was skidding out on me and I couldn't adjust enough. So, the third game, I went with my Thunderstruck and that I did. A respectable game, nonetheless. I'm starting to get back my consistency. I just need to work on adapting faster to the transitioning of the lanes.

    Game 4: 176

    Game 5: 136

    Game 6: 152

Total: 464/Averaged: 154 Well, for starters, I was bowling with no thumb during this series. I have a difficult time being consistent with my strike ball. One minute, it's in the pocket, the next minute, it's crossing over the headpin or not even coming up. I do tend to tire out moreso with this particular shot. I guess, it's b/c I have to cross lane the ball so much. Plus, I put more effort into this shot, than I do my normal shot. I suppose, that, i'll take a break for the next few days. Especially, considering, it's the holiday. I want to wish all of my fellow Bowlspacer's and your families a very Merry Christmas! Happy Holidays everyone!!!!!!

'Til next time, take care and try not to drink too much of the egg nog. Peace out!!!

Back to my (6) Games of Practicing

Friday, December 21, 2007, 08:35 AM [Practice scores]

Hey everyone! I managed to get (6) games of practice in on Thursday. It's a dollar a game for most of the day. So, you really can't beat that. Well, you can, but, you know, what I mean. Anyway, here are my scores. I was on lanes 25 & 26.

    Game 1: 157

    Game 2: 206

    Game 3: 185

Total: 548/Averaged: 182 I don't know, what it is, but, i've lost my consistency. Is it just me, the ball, the lanes or what? I wish, that, I only knew. Maybe, it's a combination of things.

    Game 4: 170

    Game 5: 136

    Game 6: 222

    Total: 528/Averaged: 176

I actually rolled my no thumb shot the last game. Something is telling me to use it more often. I'm just afraid of a drop in my average even moreso. The consistency is a key for me. I don't know, if i'll ever have it with this type of a shot. I guess, i'll never know unless I try it. Stay tuned for more to come. i'm sure, that, i'll be practicing sometime again very soon.

'Til next time, take care and peace out my fellow Bowlspacer's!!!!!!

    I Practiced (3) Games, What?

Monday, December 17, 2007, 10:16 AM [Practice scores]

Hey fellow Bowlspacer's! Would you believe, that, I only practiced (3) games this weekend? Who woulda' thunk it, right? Reason(s) being is b/c the lanes were bone dry and they had a birthday party going on next to me. I couldn't concentrate and/or focus on my game, that's for sure. Sorry, if I sound like a party pooper. Anyway, here's my scores. I was on lanes 43 & 44.

    Game 1: 180 Not a bad start.

Game 2: 184 Things were looking up or at least that's what I thought/hoped for.

Game 3: 180 Well, that's consistency for you. I can't complain about that.

Total: 544/Averaged : 181 I know, that, this is not me. I am more than capable of bowling in the 190's to low 200's, average-wise, that is. I am continuing to work on my mental game. I lost it at the very beginning of this Fall/Winter season. I still have a chance to get it back come the second half. I am remaining optimistic, despite, all of the bad things going on around me. Hopefully, all of my practice time will pay off in the end. Stay tuned for more to come...... I haven't given up on bowling nor do I plan to.

'Til next time, take care and peace out to all of my fellow Bowlspacer's!!!!!!

Is there such a thing as too much practice?

Sunday, December 9, 2007, 04:44 PM [Practice scores]

Hey fellow Bowlspacer's! How's everyone doing? Believe it or not, I bowled both Saturday afternoon and early Sunday morning. Who woulda' thunk it? The funny part is that I bowled on the same pair both days. This wasn't anything I planned, it just happened this way. Anyway, here's my scores:

    December 8, 2007

    Lanes 23 & 24

    Game 1: 225

    Game 2: 211

    Game 3: 168

Total: 604/Averaged: 201 For the first time ever, I kept track of what pins I was leaving up on each lane. I wrote it down on paper and tried to make any adjustments, as needed.

    Game 4: 201

    Game 5: 185

    Game 6: 203

Total: 589/Averaged: 196 Not bad at all, if I do say so myself. At least, I was over my current league average(191) for both series. Now, I need to apply, what I do in practice to my league. Easier said, than done. I j/wonder, if there's such a thing as too much practice?

    December 9, 2007

    Lanes 23 & 24

    Game 1: 182

    Game 2: 168

    Game 3: 199

    Total: 549/Averaged: 183

    Game 4: 222

    Game 5: 159

    Game 6: 169

Total: 550/Averaged: 183 Same pair of lanes, different day/different results. I was very consistent, though. I held the 183 average for both series. Practice has been more of a stress reliever for me, now, more than ever before. I do have some personal issues being brought to our league. If only, I could erase them from my mind come league night. Wish me luck!

'Til next time, take care and peace out my fellow Bowlspacer's!!!!!!

    Practice makes what?

Friday, December 7, 2007, 02:43 AM [Practice scores]

Here are my practice scores from 12/06/07. I was bowling at Brunswick Perry Hall on lanes 17 & 18.

    Game 1: 169

    Game 2: 211

    Game 3: 188

    Total: 568/Averaged: 189

    Game 4: 174

    Game 5: 191

    Game 6: 210

    Total: 575/Averaged: 191

As to my Subject heading of "Practice makes what?" Well, it most certainly hasn't made me perfect. Although, I shot a 300 game in practice during the month of October. My first shot at success, I might add. Practice has kept my game extremely consistent, even when, i'm not doing so well. My league average is right at 191. So, I don't feel all that bad w/my practice scoring. We'll see how things progress in the weeks to come. Hopefully, it can only go up from here. My average and scores, that is.

'Til next time, take care and the best of luck to all my fellow Bowlspacer's!!!!!!
